Notes

The Board of Education for Pewamo-Westphalia Community Schools is in search of a new superintendent.  This is an outstanding opportunity to lead a first-class, rural school system with a long history of meaningful relationships in service to the community.

PewamoWestphalia Community Schools is in Clinton and Ionia Counties, approximately 15 minutes east of Ionia and 30 minutes northwest of Lansing. From the district it is a short drive to the I-96 corridor and the Portland exit. The district includes the communities of Pewamo, Matherton, and Westphalia.  These small, close-knit communities support the school system and provide a value-based environment which is embedded in the district.

Pewamo-Westphalia is renowned for its success in academics, athletics, and fine arts for all students. The community embraces a high quality of life and is very supportive of its schools.  In 2023-2024, U.S. News and World Reports named the high school on its list of BEST HIGH SCHOOLS, while the elementary received BEST ELEMENTARY PUBLIC SCHOOLS designation in 2024.
