The Board of Education for Almont Community Schools is in search of a new superintendent. This is only the preliminary posting; a detailed profile of the ideal candidate will be added after March 24th. We encourage interested applicants to refrain from applying until the profile is posted. 

Location - Almont is a historic, charming village in southern Lapeer County, Michigan, known for its rural atmosphere, highly rated public schools, and convenient, commuter-friendly location near M-53 and I-69. Founded in 1833, it offers a small-town feel with local dining, shopping, and agriculture. The district is situated in Lapeer County, acting as a gateway between suburban Metro Detroit and the Thumb area.

Almont Community Schools is a public school district in Michigan's Thumb region (Lapeer, Oakland, Macomb, and St. Clair counties), serving approximately 1,397–1,462 students in grades PK-12. The district is noted for its high-performing staff, focusing on preparing students for the future. It operates 3-4 schools with a student-teacher ratio of 21:1, offering a 58% reading proficiency rate. ACS is currently developing their five-year strategic plan in collaboration with staff, students, administrators, and community members.

Salary and Contract Information

The Board will offer a comprehensive, multi-year contract. Compensation will be commensurate with experience of the successful candidate and requirements of the position. A preliminary salary range of $135,000 to $150,000 has been established.
