Superintendent of Buckley Community Schools

The Buckley Community Schools Board of Education is seeking a Superintendent to begin work in August, 2026. The Board is assisted in the search by the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB). 

Buckley is in beautiful northern Michigan with proximity to Traverse City. Residents and visitors enjoy all forms of four season outdoor recreational and sporting activities. The district serves approximately 500 students on one campus, pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. Buckley has a caring and committed staff where every student is their first priority. The vision is to prepare every person with the tools and opportunities to positively impact the world by placing value on community, growth, dreams, families, student leadership, accountability, and commitment. The Board of Education of Buckley Community Schools seeks a superintendent who is a strong leader, has strong financial skills, and will be an effective communicator with staff and community. The educational leader will actively work with the Board and community to set and reach goals. The new Superintendent should be an instructional leader and a creative problem solver. This educational leader should be honest, ethical, and friendly.

Salary and Contract Information:  The District will offer a competitive wage and benefit package (salary range $120,000 to $135,000) that reflects the experience and education of the candidate chosen as the next Superintendent.
